One of a series of photographs by pioneering French documentary photographer Eugene Atget (1857-1927) of Parisian streets and architecture, this evocative view of the Pantheon on a rainy day taken in 1924. Atget achieved only modest success during his lifetime; it was only after his death that his work was rediscovered and championed by the surrealists, most notably Man Ray.
